In order to meet the demands of the Indian market, Tata Motors is continuously updating its lineup of passenger vehicles. A new round of electric vehicle development is due to begin in the next two years, according to the carmaker.

Several Tata electric vehicles have already been launched in the Indian market and the company plans to have 10 on sale by 2025. There are several EVs in the latter category, including Tiago EV, Nexon EV (Max and Prime), and Tigor EV.

Tata Motors will likely introduce electric versions of the Harrier, Safari, Curvv, Sierra, Altroz, and Punch in the future. On Indian roads, test mules have already been seen testing the latter. The 10th in the brand’s EV lineup remains a mystery, and the Altroz EV last appeared at the 2020 Auto Expo, so the release date of this model is also a mystery. In the near future, we can expect more details about the project.

About Tata Tiago EV

Summary :
As Tata’s entry-level product, the Tiago, contributes greatly to the company’s overall sales in India, the Tiago is one of the most popular choices in its segment. Tata Motors introduced the updated version of Tiago to the country in January 2020 with a fresh set of cosmetic and feature updates.

There are several variants of the hatchback available – XE, XT, XZ, XTA, XZ Plus, XZA, and XZA Plus. You can choose from the dual-tone color option in the variants of the XZ Plus and the XZA Plus.

Exterior :
Among the features distinguishing the updated model from its predecessor are a new grille and chrome strip, an air dam and circular fog lights in the bumper, and dual-tone alloy wheels with black highlights in higher variants. Other than cosmetic enhancements to make the vehicle look fresh, the vehicle retains its familiar design elements.

Interior :
In comparison with its predecessor, the interior receives mild updates. Among the noticeable changes is a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. The vehicle comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, a seat-belt reminder, and a high-speed alert as standard equipment.

Engine :
Powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine constrained to BS6 regulations, the Tiago is able to produce 84bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 3,300rpm while delivering an exceptional ride quality. Depending on your preference, the five-speed manual engine can also be fitted with an automatic transmission if you desire.

How does the Tiago EV fare against competition ?
Tata Tiago EV arrives in the top notch slot when compared with the likes of MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3 and Tata Tigor EV when it comes to miles per kWh. There is no doubt that the Citroen eC3 is the most comfortable and stylish car on the market today. In terms of performance and value for money, the MG Comet EV is by far the best electric car on the market.

Conclusion :
What is your opinion on the Tata Tiago EV? Do you think it is worth your money? If you are in the market for an EV and want to get involved in the EV revolution, then the Tiago EV is definitely a good option for you. It has compact dimensions, ranks high on safety, is economical to run, and boasts a lot of features that make the car more appealing to buyers.

It is likely that if you were to choose the long-range version of the car, you would have to shell out somewhere between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). There is no doubt that, at the price point, the Tiago EV makes a perfect second car that is an EV as well as a vehicle that can easily manage your city roundabouts as it is an EV.
