In the T20I series against the West Indies, Warner, Starc, Marsh, and Stoinis return

Stoinis, Starc, Marsh, and Warner are included in the 16-member Australian squad for the two-match T20I series against West Indies.

These four players were all absent from the just-concluded T20I series in India. As a result, Warner rested, while Starc, Stoinis, and Marsh limped around with knee, ankle, and side strains.

The squad also includes all-rounder Cameron Green, who hit two quick fifties in India. Ashton Agar, the left-arm spinner, and Kane Richardson, the pace bowler, have been rested.

“With the World Cup just around the corner, we are taking a cautious approach,” said National Selection Panel Chair George Bailey.

Four key players returning provides us with the opportunity to resolve minor issues well before the World Cup. The next series against England should see Kane and Ashton return.”

Australia is scheduled to play England in a three-match T20I series in Perth and Canberra after playing the two T20Is against the West Indies in October 5 and 7. A practice game will also be played at the Gabba on October 17 before the start of Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign.
