For the T20Is against South Africa, Shreyas, Umesh, and Shahbaz have been called up to the Indian squad

During the three-T20I series against South Africa starting later today in Thiruvananthapuram, Shreyas Iyer, a traveling reserve for India for the upcoming men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, has been drafted in to replace the injured Deepak Hooda.

BCCI also confirmed Hardik Pandya is out of the series, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar undergoing “conditioning-related work” at the NCA.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Arshdeep Singh has joined the India T20I squad after being rested against Australia in three T20Is.

A recovering Mohammed Shami has been left out of the team, since he needs to pass the BCCI’s fitness tests in order to be reeligible for selection in the future.

In addition, Shahbaz Ahmed, an uncapped left-arm spin bowler, has been added to the squad. Previously, he had been called up during the Zimbabwe ODIs in July in place of Washington Sundar, who was injured.
